Dave Simpson and wife Maggie Cervin of California were at their summer home on the beach.

Kathy (nee Simpson) and Mike Warner of Windsor were up for a visit along with son Jacob and his girlfriend Monica.

Get well wishes go out to Eddy Simpson who is at home after a brief hospital stay.

Cheryl Sheppard enjoyed a trip to the Killarney Firefighters Annual Fishfry Fundraiser on board the North Channel Cruise Line. It was a fantastic trip with live music on board.

There was a warm crowd despite the windy weather at the “Sunset Music Series Manitoulin 2018” concert, this past Friday, July 27, on the back deck at the Providence Bay Harbour Centre. Lance Panamick was joined by surprise guest Alisha LeDain. Come on out this Friday, August 3 when the lovely Jenna Maisonneuve returns to share her soulful repertoire.

The beautiful warm weather has returned and we’ve had a few showers to help combat some forest fires, but we require a lot more rain to lift our fire ban and totally extinguish the forest fires. Happy 17th Wedding Anniversary to JD and Amy Wright on Saturday, August 4.

The Providence Bay Library has free internet and three laptops for patrons. They also have a photocopier available along with lots of new books and loads of Westerns. Storytelling is being held on Fridays between 2 and 3 pm. They also have a small section of history of our Island books. They can’t be taken out, but they can be enjoyed in the library. Open Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 pm, Wednesday 1-3:30 pm and Fridays from 1-4:30 pm.
