I popped in to the Hall after my appointment in Mindemoya. A few folks there I hadn’t seen for a while. Janet and Glenn are back on the Island again. I had my lunch at Grill and Chill. The Addisons were there celebrating Jean’s birthday on May 16. Her granddaughter Roselyn celebrated her birthday on the 10th, as well.
On Tuesday afternoon the birthday party at the Hall celebrated April and May together. Three birthdays to celebrate: Pete and Gordie (“The Band”) and Eileen. As always, the music and food were great. Thank you.
I see the little wrens working at the birdhouse but haven’t heard them singing me any wake-up songs. That seems unusual (hey, maybe I’m sleeping through them?)
Noted for my good timing, I got to Susan and Simon’s yard sale in time for lunch with Susan and Pauline. They seemed busy for a Thursday.
Lori just called; they were out picking leeks. She’s making soup.
I had my breakfast at Mum’s in Mindemoya after going for bloodwork. I have been running into Carol Love everywhere it seems lately.
I got my laundry done, always a good job, and it sure doesn’t take a lot to tire me out. Most of my writing is done in the Layzee-girl chair or in bed.
Tara’s big job on Wednesday, she cleaned the pond and got the goldfish out. It’s such a lovely place to sit and listen to the water and the world’s outside music.
The white Trilliums are showing up everywhere. They seem small this year.
Justine gave me a package of wild flower seeds. I’ve got a bunch out of the vehicles to throw on the roadsides too. Should do that soon.
Just got a call from The Expositor. I forgot about Friday and early deadline.
Last evening’s euchre tournament had nine tables. I helped get folks registered, then came home. Was in bed early for a change. The poor girls Margaret and Lois, were on KP duty: first, Janet and Anna, 82 broken hand and all; second, Rhonda and Don, 76; third, Sheila and Graham, 75; fourth, Reg and Sherry Hall, 74 and Ted and Dorothy, 74, tied; low, Jan and Pam, 44; lone hands, Sheila and Graham, ??; no door prize results.
It’s funny. Dorothy Cronk just brought in the cribbage results while I was getting this ready to go out, and I was ready too: high hand, Marg Case, 22; first, Jan and Marg; 957; second, Keith and Ted, 953; third, Brad and Dorothy, 922; low, Lina and Noreen, 861; door, Mary J, Keith and Jan.
