All for an old ferry that was built elsewhere
To the Expositor:
As ‘Friends of the Norisle’ we are very disappointed in the Society’s decision to sue Assiginack over the future of the Norisle. The results of this action are pitting neighbour against neighbour, friend against friend, not to mention the deficit in the municipality’s budget to provide some much needed services. All of this over an old ferry that was built elsewhere, and has no visible ties to this area except for some emotional memories for a few Assiginack residents, ex-residents and steamship dreamers.
The cost of these emotional memories and the very remote possibility of a refurbished Norisle as a cruise ship is a huge burden on us as taxpayers that is unacceptable.
