(SUDBURY, ON) -On November 8, 2017 at 12:00 pm officers from the Sudbury Detachment of The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), The Sudbury Fire Department and the Sudbury-Manitoulin District Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, at Middle Lake rd., Sudbury.
The investigation has revealed that a westbound motor vehicle driven by Guy Forget, 63 years of age from French River, Ontario crossed the centre line and struck an eastbound pick-up truck driven by Barry Brechin, 70 years of age from Bruce Mines, Ontario. Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 55 year old female passenger in the pick-up truck remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Highway was re-opened at 5:30 p.m. last night. The Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate.
