C.C. McLean Colts Going Strong!

By Rachael Orford

Welcome back everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful summer! I also hope you enjoyed the first professional development day (PD) of the school year.

Welcome to all the new students that will be attending C.C. McLean this school year and hopefully for many more years to come. Also a big and warm welcome to the new Junior Kindergarten students that are joining us this year.

Welcome to the new secretary, Ms. Still, and welcome to the new teachers, Mr. Scott, who will be teaching Grade 5/6, Mrs. Lockeyer, who will be teaching Grade 8, and Ms. Hagman, who will be teaching Grade 4.

There have been many changes at C.C. Mclean this past summer. Many of the projects that were completed near the end of last year will be out in full view for the students and visitors of C.C. McLean to see. The mural that the art club completed in June is hung in the hallway by the office, and the buddy benches that the Grade 4/5 class painted in June placed throughout the school playground this Fall. Also a new addition to the school this year is the seniors centre.

On a more serious note…especially for the students…there are 14 school days until the second P.D. Day, 74 days until Christmas break, 115 school days until March break, and only 183 school days until Summer vacation…phew!! But fortunately there will be many tests and projects along the way to keep us busy, and too many lunches for our parents to make. (The above information does not include snow days, as I am not a psychic.)

Joke of the Week: Mother: How did you find school today?

Child: I hopped off the bus, and there it was! Taada!

Upcoming events include the rest of the school year!

Until next time, “Dream and Believe. Learn and Achieve!”
