Providence Bay News & Notes

Visitors returning home from Windsor for the summer are Eddie and Betty Simpson. They took some time along with daughter Kathy Warner to give Ingrid Blay a hand while she worked on the ‘Welcome to Providence Bay’ sign on the Government Road.

Marley Neill flew from Toronto to Edmonton, Alberta where she was met by her mother and will be travelling to BC for a visit. We’re sure they have a lot of adventures planned.

The family of the late Jason Leu gathered together for a memorial and burial on Saturday, May 20.

The Providence Bay/Spring Bay Lions Club held their Spring Roar dance this past Saturday. The pulled pork, BBQ beans and slaw were fantastic.  A super great time was held by all. It’s evident that we sure know how to party it up in Providence Bay as the DJ Bill Concannon kept everybody up on the dance floor. A big shout out to all the wonderful volunteers that help pull events like this together. Well done!

Glen and Mona Bryan are up visiting for the long weekend at their cottage affectionately known as Hummingbird Retreat. While here, they celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on May 21. Congratulations!

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Mary Eadie who will be celebrating May 28.

The bridgework on the highway is ongoing at the Mindemoya River and should be starting in earnest on June 1.
