DORIS ELIZABETH (Allan) PHILLIPS

DORIS ELIZABETH (Allan) PHILLIPS Passed away peacefully on March 21, 2017, in Maple Ridge, B.C. Born on Barrie Island (Manitoulin), Ontario, she was the second of five children to James Allan and Sarah (Della) Lane. Doris was predeceased by her brother Edgar and sister Leola. She will be missed by her brother Gordon (Marrian), sister Gladys, and sister Wilda (Lavern); children Mike (Sylvie), Micheline (Paul), Melodie (Michael), and Roger (Kate); and grandchildren Chris (Courtney), Ryan, Justin (Laura), Caleb, Seth, Luke, Amelie, and Lachlan. Doris completed high school in Gore Bay (1951) and received her teaching certificate in North Bay, Ontario. From there she embarked on many adventures in her life: teaching in the northern village of Inukjuak, Quebec (Port Harrison), moving to British Columbia, driving across Canada several times, and in later years a mission trip to Africa. Doris found her home in New Life Community Church and the many friends she cherished. Donations can be made in memory to World Vision Canada. She loves Jesus.
