Assiginack’s got your kids covered this March Break

MANITOWANING—March Break Madness in Manitowaning is now in its fourth year. This year Assiginack has added some new activities as well as bringing back some of the most popular ones.

“This year, we have a professional artist coming to teach kids art in the mornings from 10 am to noon at the arena atrium,” Jackie White, Assiginack projects and events coordinator, says. “Madonna Aeschlimann will be spending Monday through Thursday teaching them about four great artists. In these fun sessions she will be getting the kids to use different mediums as she teaches them unique concepts related to the artists.”

Monday night, March 13, brings two fun hockey games where kids show up and are put on teams to play with others they normally would not get a chance to play with. “It is so exciting when kids from out of town and other communities come and join us,” Ms. White encourages.

The tyke/novice game will take place at 6:30 pm and the atom/peewee game will commence at 7:30 pm. Players are asked to show up 30 minutes early so they can be assigned teams and get dressed. Full equipment is required.
