3 overdue snowmobilers located in good health

(SUDBURY,ON) – On March 4, 2017 members of the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of three overdue snowmobilers north of the City of Greater Sudbury.

The three snowmobilers ventured out at 4:00 p.m. and were due to return at 6:00 p.m. Once they failed to return the OPP were contacted and an overnight search was conducted with the assistance of the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR). The search continued into the next day with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Snow Machine, All Terrain Vehicle and  Vessels Enforcement Unit (SAVE). The three snowmobilers were located in good health a short time later.

The OPP reminds snowmobilers to ensure you are prepared for emergencies by wearing proper clothing, carrying appropriate supplies and food. Always tell someone the routes you intend to take and when you plan to return. If you don’t return when expected, this information saves police precious time in deciding where to commence and focus search efforts.
