Commendations for The Expositor from an Orillia writer

A beacon of light in these days of diminishing print media

To the Expositor:

On January 25, 2017, an article appeared in Petra Wall’s column that featured a retired policeman from Sudbury (‘Now and Then: Mickey McKinny,’ Page 5). One photo that was included in his life story was of the Flying Fathers and Brothers from 1973-1974. My brother Pat O’Gorman was in that photo as a “brother”—he was a Sudbury policeman at the time and a hockey player.

I called your office to see if I could have a copy of this article sent to my brother in Sudbury as I wished to keep my own copy for our family

photo records.

You very generously sent a copy to Pat and did not want any remuneration from me—I had offered to pay for the mailing.

I commend your paper for your generosity and your commitment to providing such interesting articles on both local, provincial and Canadian news.

Your newspaper is truly unique and serving your community well in these days of diminishing print media.

Thank you so much.
