Marley Neill has returned from her trip out to British Columbia where she visited her Mom Anna Neill and partner Dave. While there she visited Vancouver, Whistler, Vernon, Abbotsford and many other places. They attended a concert by Tim Hicks, Chad Brownlee and Jojo Manson. They also enjoyed a special girl’s day at the spa and rode the Gondola in Squamish and walked across a suspension bridge. Brave girls. They also took a drive through the Canadian Rockies, a 1,200 km trip!

Well it looks like we had our mid January thaw. The mild temperatures coupled with dreary, cloud covered days had many people experiencing the winter blues. We’re sure glad to see that the colder temperatures brought back the sun and the forecast is calling for more snow so we can get outside and enjoy our Canadian winter again.

Condolences go out to Kat and Bob Jones on the passing of Bob’s father.

Welcome to new entrepreneur Cynthia Fox who has opened her new pet grooming business Cynthia’s Grooming at her parents (Carole and Dan McMahon) home off Firehall Road. She is looking for a more permanent address, but for now is willing to come to your home if needed. To contact her for your pet care grooming needs call 705-665-0818.

Anna Orford and grand-daughter Christine Cranston flew to Calgary to spend time with daughter and mother Caroline Cranston, her partner Dan and his family. They are reportedly having a very enjoyable time, enjoying spa day’s together, hockey games, many delicious Restaurants, shopping and walks in the Park.

Don’t forget this month’s curling club breakfast held on Thursday, February 2. Get together with friends and come out to support this monthly fundraiser between 7-9 am. You can sit around and discuss the groundhog’s official position on whether we’ll have an early spring or six more weeks of winter.

Cheryl Sheppard will be celebrating her birthday on February 2 as well. Happy Birthday wishes go out to her on her special day. Belated birthday wishes go out to Bob Kay who celebrated on Sunday, January  29.

Many people are looking ahead to the Super Bowl coming up this Sunday February 5. There will be a few snacks eaten and a few drinks enjoyed while the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons do battle in Houston. Who will be this year’s champions?
