Jamie Mohamed named as the new Manitoulin Secondary School principal

MANITOULIN—Little Current Public School (LCPS) Principal Jamie Mohamed has been appointed the new principal at Manitoulin Secondary School, confirmed Nicole Charette, senior advisor corporate communications and strategic planning with the Rainbow District School Board (RDSB) when contacted by The Expositor.

In an interesting twist, what was old has become new again and Little Current Public School could be forgiven a sense of déjà vu, as former principal Margaret Stringer has been appointed the interim principal of Little Current Public School effective February 6 to June 30, 2017.

It will be a homecoming of sorts for Mr. Mohamed as well, as he had served for several years as vice-principal at MSS before moving onto an administrative post in Espanola.

Both Mr. Mohamed and Ms. Stringer have considerable experience as academic leaders in the region. Ms. Stringer completed a stint as principal of special education for the RDSB before returning to Manitoulin Island to take up the role of principal at Assiginack Public School. Ms. Stringer retired from that post in 2014.
