Tehkummah Talk and Times

I said hello to Maureen. She and her family from Marathon were visiting her Mum, Linda (McGillis) and family members on the Island and in Espanola.

I stayed at Loco Beanz for a coffee, bagel and cream cheese, the best. Saturday with Gary, Bruce, and his son Elijah. Annette and Wes seem like pretty busy people! A nice place to visit and meet friends.

Four tables for cribbage Wednesday, January 4: high hand, Bill C, 22; first, Graham and Sheila, 935; second, Cal and I, 927; third, Jean and Mary, 905; low, Marg and Simon, 875; door, Bill Case.

Stormy weather deters card players!! Two days in a row?

Euchre tournament KP duty Anne and Lois, thanks. First, Bill and Betty Jean, 80; second, Janet and Marg, 70; Pat and Lois won lone hands, 5, on a low; Mervyn and Dorothy, 47; door?

Only one page written so far. This is Sunday. Actually Monday, as it’s after midnight. Maybe it was a quiet week. Perhaps the snowfall has muffled it all. South Baymouth has some pretty high banks, and the roads have already narrowed in considerably. Picture postcard Sunday with the sun on the snow covered trees and blue-sky background. Also South Baymouth watch for deer, four came up over the banks, young ones and one larger doe farther down the road. They could really surprise you! Just me today, in to Carol’s and Earl’s for lunch. Carol and Lorrie both gave me birthday surprises (lots). Thank you. June McDougall was out today; minister at Fairview. Good to see her again. The Christmas Story continues and song! Beat Mum a few games of cribbage after. Ross and David were busy removing snow there, a full time job these days.

Cal popped in around suppertime and we went to Carol’s and Earl’s for our supper. Lots of folks we knew there with the same idea. We shared table space with Rick and Kate Pyette, two of my favourite young folk. They had lots of family photos on camera taken over the holidays.

Allison and her two young’ins were there with her Dad, Williard and Diana (Pyette) (table next to us). The place was busy, we missed them, Carol and Earl over the holidays. Sympathy to the Brouse family. Marvin was one of our smiling musicians over the years. Their group played for dances and mostly our Triangle Club monthly birthday parties.

Helen and I were supposed to get together and make a list of all of our entertainers over the years, and there were many!! All wonderful and so generous with their time.

Tara drove through falling snow; she’s used to it taking Skylar, Sherry and I. We went to Barneys to check things out. Had our lunch at Loco Beanz, checked my lottery tickers, big winner me $105.20. If you don’t win, the paper isn’t even fit for T.P. if you know what I mean!

Skylar babysat me on Friday. She won Tiki, 4 points to my 96.
