Town hall meeting will include Hydro One’s customer care exec VP

ELLIOT LAKE—Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Michael Mantha, the Manitoulin Municipal Association (MMA) and Hydro One Ombudsman Fiona Crean have formally announced that there will be a town hall meeting on Monday, December 12 at Manitoulin Secondary School in M’Chigeeng from 6 to 8 pm. It has been confirmed that the Hydro One customer care and corporate affairs executive vice-president will also be on hand to hear members of the public concerns on Hydro One services.

“We are grateful to have Hydro One ombudsman Fiona Crean and executive vice-president Ferio Pugliese join us for this special informative event,” said Mr. Mantha. “Following an opening presentation in which Ms. Crean will outline topics and concerns that she and Mr. Pugliese will be able to address, there will be time for general discussion and questions. This is a great opportunity for the general public to improve overall understanding and share their concerns.”

“Mr. Pugliese will be attending the meeting along with the Hydro One ombudsman,” said Mr. Mantha. “This meeting is something the Manitoulin Municipal Association and Billings Councillor Brian Parker and his council set up, getting the ombudsman here on the Island and providing an avenue for local residents to ask questions and provide their input and concerns.”

“As well, it will provide the basis for the ombudsman to provide information on what her role will be,” said Mr. Mantha. “This is an important opportunity for the people of Manitoulin Island, to find out what can be done, the resources available to them to help with some of their concerns, and for both representatives to hear first hand the issues and concerns people have with Hydro One. Mr. Pugliese needs to hear the frustrations many people directly.”

Mr. Mantha will be moderating the meeting with the assistance of the MMA.
