JEAN PAUL (JACK, J.P.) JOLY

February 11, 1936 – November 15, 2016

In loving memory of Jean Paul (Jack, J.P.) Joly, a resident of Little Current, Manitoulin, who died peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre, on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the age of 80. Jack moved from Sudbury to Little Current in 1943 when his father started a plumbing and electrical business. He owned and operated Joly’s Plumbing and Heating. He later purchased Current Sheet and Metal and his vocation included tinsmith, duct work and burner mechanic. His business serviced all parts of the Island. Over the years, Jack had the opportunity to work with and employ many local Islanders. He provided apprenticeship opportunities to help further their careers. In the latter part of his career he went to work for Dan’s Electric in Espanola. Jack enjoyed watching hockey, partridge hunting, fishing, gardening and yard work, and spending time with family and friends. His greatest love was his family always finding time for family vacations and enjoying time with his grandchildren. Predeceased by wife Nola (nee Burnett) (October 25, 1995). Loving father of Paula (John Shamess) and Chris (Jessie Debassige). Proud grandfather of Dustin Varey and Sabrina Shamess. Dear brother of Lorraine Smith (predeceased), Frances Ayrs (predeceased) and Judy Kift (Ed predeceased). Will always be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Service was at 11 am on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Burial in Elmview Cemetery. In appreciation to the care of our father, donations to Manitoulin Centennial Manor Auxiliary or to Manitoulin Health Centre Auxiliary would be appreciated.
