JAMES T. (JIM) MACGREGOR
James T. (Jim) MacGregor passed away at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on Saturday, October 8, 2016 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Heather, loving father of Michael (Sarah) and Monte, and dear grandfather of Megan, Alexander, Logan and Connor. Cremation has taken place. Jim (Dad) grew up in Little Current, Ontario with key stops in London, Toronto, Midland, Thessalon, Orillia, Belleville and finally settling in Barrie for the final years of his life. Much of his career he worked for the Bank of Montreal. He enjoyed baseball, billiards, curling and cars. He was a talented writer and source of great knowledge on a myriad of practical topics. Showing emotions such as love, caring and compassion were difficult for him, but he proved them to those closest in subtle ways, particularly towards his grandchildren. He took great pride in his sons’ accomplishments and spoke little of his own. He wanted very little in life yet contentment often eluded him.
