On September 24, members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop of a speeding pickup truck travelling in excess of 50 KPH over the posted 80 KPH speed limit on Highway 6 in the Township of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands.
As a result of this investigation, a 23-year-old male of Sudbury has been charged with drive motor vehicle, perform stunt, speeding by 50 or more KPH, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. His driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days, and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Little Current on December 22.
