But why the delay?
To the Expositor:
I am happy to see the investment in our local roads, as I am sure all Islanders are, but my concern is the length in time it has taken to replace culverts under the roadways between Little Current and Gore Bay. I can’t imagine the contractor is providing the equipment and traffic lights for free (to sit idle).
It should not take months to replace a culvert and I see very little progress. The clock is ticking and the dollars are flowing. The Ministry of Transportation should have hard dates set for completion times and the contractor should not be able to come and go as they please. Not only is it costing more money, it is an inconvenience for a longer period of time. Get the work done!
