MINA McDERMID (nee McMullen)

Mina was born in Manitowaning, met her beloved husband, late Maxwell McDermid, on Lake Kagawong, married in Mindemoya, and raised her family in Gore Bay, Thessalon, and finally, Sault Ste. Marie. She passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, June 2, 2012 in her 91st year with family by her side, holding her hand. Our thoughts will always return to Mina as we enjoy our Farqhuar’s Rum & Raisin ice cream, and while striving to fry our Lake Kagawong bass on the Coleman stove with as much love and skill as she did. Loving mother of Joan MacDonald (late Alvin), Maxine McCauley (John), Edwin (Marilyn), Bruce (Ursula) and Wayne (Linda). Grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 12 and great great grandmother of 2. Predeceased by her parents Richard and Mary McMullen. Dear sister of the late Carrie Kellet (late Pierce), late Nora Morris (late Ed), Mary Boletjes (Case), Mildred Sprange (late Jim), Eunice Wilson (late Jim), late Leota McMullen, Helen Irwin (late Reg), Jim McMullen (Pat), Larry McMullen (Penny) and the late Wilfred McMullen. Sister-in-law of the late Stella McGrath (Gordon) and Bruce McDermid (Lily). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A heartfelt service and interment took place on June 6th, in Sault Ste. Marie.
