The Espanola Police Service are investigating the theft of an ARGO all-terrain vehicle from the Hydro-One Substation on Jacklin Road, and are asking for the public’s assistance in locating this vehicle, which is valued at $27,000.00.
At some point between 5:45 p.m. on May 3, and 8:00 a.m. on May 4, the ARGO was removed from its location 20 meters off Jacklin Road, where it was sling locked to a trailer. Based on tracks leading from the area, it appears that the culprit(s) drove the ARGO westbound along Jacklin Road, where it may have been loaded onto a trailer.
The ARGO is described as a green 2015 HDI 750, with 8 wheels per side with tracks. At the time of the theft, it had Ontario plate number 8CW96 attached, and several stickers affixed to it with the name “Savage Rentals.”
Prior to the theft, employees at the Substation reported that two males approximately 45-years old, in an older model regular cab silver pickup truck, with a homemade box having a blue bin on it, pulled up to the work site, and were acting suspiciously. Police would like to speak to these two males.
At this time, there are no suspects in this theft, and police are asking anyone with information about the person(s) responsible; location of the stolen ARGO; or information about the two males or the truck seen in the area prior to the theft; to call the Espanola Police Service at (705) 869-3251 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-461-4899.
