MARY ANN BASSINGTHWAITE

September 14, 1928 – December 28, 2015

Marry Ann Bassingthwaite (nee Orr) died peacefully about 8:15 PM (MST), December 28, 2015 at Extendicare Eaux Claires in Edmonton, Alberta. Her 87th birthday was September 14, 2015 and while able had been very socially active in community programs during her life. She was an avid curler, golfer, bingo and bridge player. For her, Manitoulin Island was home regardless of the many places she lived around the world while accompanying her husband during his military career. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward (Ted), son James, grandchildren Jason, Natasha, and Victoria. She was the daughter of Herman and Annie (nee King) Orr, both deceased, along with her brother Arthur. Her surviving siblings Iris Calvert, Joan Rosengren, and Donna McNally with husband Jack reside in the Thunder Bay area. A celebration of her life is to take place on June 25, 2016 at 1 pm at the Sheguindah Hall. Internment of her cremated remains will follow.
