Mark George Smith died peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the age of 74. Born in Preston North East, England on May 29, 1941 to Gertrude (nee Stansfield) and Bernard Francis Smith (both predeceased). Beloved husband of Rachel Schryer. Loved father of Christopher of Bowen Island, Catherine (Jamie) of Echo Bay, Derek (Guada) of Edmonton. Stepfather of Bonnie (Martin) and Sean (Karine). Grandfather of Santana, Matteo, Chelsea, Brady, Meagan, Samuel, Melanie, Sarah, Evelyne, Julianne. Dear brother of Don (Paulette), Alan (Karen), Duncan (Rita). Loved uncle of many and will be fondly remembered by many friends. Mark retired to Little Current, Manitoulin Island after many years working at INCO. His enjoyment of life was found in sailing and racing in the waters of the North Channel. Celebration of Life to follow.
