Isadore Wilfred Recollet (Opa, Giidench) passed peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre with his family at his side on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the age of 79. Born to Annie (nee Wakegijig) and Alex Recollet at the Rabbit Island Homestead on May 31, 1936. He was a skidder operator and was very good with his chain saw. He liked watching baseball and playing in his younger days. He truly was the best hard worker; he enjoyed being outdoors and loved being with his children, his grandchildren and most of all his great grandchildren. He enjoyed going to dances, loved doing the two-step and he was very good at it. Isadore was a strong, kind, had a good sense of humor and was well respected in the community. Isadore will be forever remembered by his brother Norman (Muriel, predeceased). Isadore is predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Phillip (Nancy), Eli (Annie), Margaret (Wilfred), Bella (Thomas) Sam and Stella. Isadore is survived by his loving children Kenneth (Linda), Timothy (Anita), Bonita (Sebastian), Connie, Carole, Dianne (deceased Larry) Malcolm (Michelle) Sandrah (Don) and their mother Louise Recollet (Peltier) and daughter Annie Dokum (Everett). Survived by 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Great-granddaughter Kristen Sabrina Jackson-Recollet (predeceased). Godfather of Betty Joe Fox, Isadore (Touboy) Peltier, Aaron Trudeau, Veronica (Bunny) Emmet. Loving brother-in-law Andrew, Jerry, Isadore, Melvin, Virginia Edna, Linda, Hilda, Beverly, Shirley, Maryann, Darlene (deceased), Pamela, and Danette. Many nieces, nephews and friends will sadly miss him. Will be sadly missed by special friends Gordon and Julie Wemigwans, Jimmy (deceased) and Mary Gaiashk, and George Trudeau son-in-law. Visitation started at 4 pm on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Rabbit Island Community Centre. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 2 pm at the Holy Cross Mission in Wikwemikong, Ontario with burial at Wikwemikong Lower Old Cemetery.
