Here it is Wednesday evening. Just took (5) my first pre chemo pills and now I’m in bed writing. I was colouring earlier as today I got a cat book and crayons and inspirational note from Joyce in Ingersol. Thanks, love it!
On Monday I had a trip to the oncologist in Sudbury. Dave drove. He had a bit of waiting around. “No my wig isn’t red” but we had a lot of laughs trying them on. Somehow it’s different than your own? We had our lunch at King’s Buffet and shopped our way home (kind of).
Tuesday morning I had an echo at Mindemoya. Went to the laundromat, straight home and to Pauline’s where she took (my) UCW meeting. So thank you very much! We had fun too and a shared lunch. (I was hungry, I’m always hungry it seems). Lorna made good desserts.
I went back up again today for bloodwork.
I didn’t go to cribbage. I’ve been trying to avoid the bugs out and about.
Cal has been sick with a bad cold. Mindemoya this AM. Mum, Pauline and Wayne came in too. We could have saved gas? We all had breakfast at Mum’s Restaurant. Finally today, sat in the sun outside. It was nice, and warm, but where did our robins go? Mary O’Neil found a dead one near her step when she was shoveling? Sad to hear of Elaine Willoughby’s death this week. My goodness, we can’t afford to lose any more folk from our township! Sympathy to her family and friends.
Hey, this is the week we honour our volunteers. Well we actually should honour them always, but this is the one week in the year that noted for them alone. So “Thank You” for all that you do!! You know who you are!!
Poem in your pocket too, the National read one. Someone left some verses etc on my door. Thank you very much. How are you, Bill Case?
Again more verses on my door Sunday thanks Linda McN.
Kim and Kathy’s new puppy’s name is Toolin, as in Manny. This must be the year of the dog? The Reckahns have “Gemma” (she is a gem) and the Cases have “Sprocket” all nice and pretty pets (no I don’t need one!)
For me it’s the “birds”. I’ve never ever fed so many. Now the deer are back so we won’t have a tulip bloom again this year (their favourite snack!) I guess they feel safe in our yards. Thursday evening Sherry just called to see how my day went, and Helen gave a call after I got home. It was great I got a taxi ride up with Tara. She still had an hour or so before work, and during my chemo Marg (Case) popped in and said she would call in before she left Mindemoya so about fifteen minutes before I was finished (at 2:30) I was wondering about her and she was my taxi ride home. Wasn’t that nice! I slept a lot so the time went by. Connie told me I had “beautiful” veins, good to hear parts of me are! What a lovely young lady she is. She had to reschedule one appointment as I was way longer than most. Andrea spelled Connie off while she had her lunch. Don (Arnold) came in while I was there. So spoke to Lois and Nancy, Brenda, Barb, and Lloyd. Took one anti-nausea pill and am in my chair covered up, now with the TV on of course. I talked to Cal, he still sounds croaky, a very sore throat he says.
A beautiful day today. Pauline just called to see how my day went! She’s bringing a bowl of spaghetti. Told me a sad story, a raccoon pulled a board off the duck pen and demolished almost all the females. How sad is that! Susan and Simon’s hand work and care.
Thanks to Dorothy for looking after the cribbage games. I really appreciate it. High hand, Florence and Bill (McG), 24; 1st, Betty Jean and Dorothy (A), 964; (Good one) second, Graham and Sheila, 948; third, Jean and Mary, 939; low, Wayne and Pauline, 827; door, Ruth, Bill and Graham. Thanks Dorothy for keeping the score sheets!
The Red Hat Southern Bells took a Wiky trip on Wednesday. They were all played out after dining out, going to the Dollar Store and to Andy’s. Apparently Mum was still going strong! Betty, Carolyn, Joan (B), Lydia, Laura, Helen, and Jeanine. Thanks for the card girls! (I got eight cards today!) For the second morning in a row I’m watching the sunrise above the trees. Bubs (Marble) is on the back of the bench. The sound of morning is amazing. The rusty hinge sound the blue jay is creating, a woodpecker’s call, far in the distance the resonance of crows sandhills and wild geese and the milking from the farm just shut off. Almost too many sounds to take it all in. Seagulls over all, and yet it’s comforting and peaceful feeling. Motor just kicked back on, milking machine I assume. There is still snow on about 20 percent of my yard, the shaded south side protected by the cedars, but if this is an indication, it will probably go today. I woke up with a cough this AM, I’m already all doctored up. Vicks on my soles (God bless em) and all. Hope it doesn’t get too bad, I hate the cough/bladder connection! It’s usually a bonus right? The small birds are just coming to the feeder now, and they are very quiet for some reason. No deer in two nights in a row. Thursday night Tara heard the coyotes just below us and on Thursday morning there were 10 deer right here, and below us. Cardinals just came in. The hawk must be around again, as I saw grey feathers on Ward’s step at the store yesterday. I just called Cal, his voice sounds better this morning, and that’s a good thing!
A big ball of nesting hair, compliments of me, for the birdies!
I see the girls had a campfire last evening, Skylar had a birthday sleepover with her friends, Liberty and Dailynn. They are going to the camp today for hotdogs (I think). They were all on the trampoline this morning, smiling.
Cal sounded much better this AM. I’ve been sitting out (reading too) since dawn broke. The first miniature daffodil opened this morning, lots of crocuss now too and never ever have the snow drops lasted so long, all sorts of small squill too blue and white and honey bees, good. Well, I’ve slept a lot the last couple of days. The sunshine is nice. How did it get to be Monday so fast? The birds are sure happy.
Sandra, the hat is adorable; I look like I should be holding a baby bottle!
My whole life I suffer guilt! I feel like I’m unfaithful, my old fridge went out the door Sunday and “a new to me” one is in my kitchen. That fridge saw me through restaurant days. I’m sure it’s fifty years old and it still was working good.
