‘Two if by Sea’ – This is a suspenseful novel that is about the best and worst In people and the possibility of heroism and even magic in ordinary life. Just hours after his wife and her entire family perish in the Christmas Eve tsunami in Brisbane, American expat and former police officer Frank Mercy pulls a little boy from a submerged car, saving the child’s life with only seconds to spare. In that moment, Frank’s life is transformed….
‘At The Edge of the Orchard’ – This is a riveting drama of a pioneer family on the American frontier. In 1838 James and Sadie Goodenough have settled where their wagon got stuck in the muddy, stagnant swamps of northwest Ohio. They and their five children work relentlessly to tame their patch of land.
‘Clawback’ (an Ali Reynolds novel) – Ali’s parents are beyond devastated when they learn that their hard earned retirement savings have suddenly disappeared in a massive Ponzi scheme. The sting is sharper because the Larsons considered their trusted financial adviser, Dan Frazier, to be an ally and friend. Feeling he must confront his onetime friend, Bob makes an ill-timed visit to Frazier’s house, only to stumble upon the scene of a double homicide.

‘Beyond: Our Future In Space ‘- A tour of humanity’s forays into space looks to the future, marveling at the dizzying potential of manned space flight. Astrophysicist Chris Impey shows that humans have a genetic urge to explore stretching back millennia, and takes us to the front lines of the new space race. He reports on China’s plan to launch its own space station by 2020, proves that humans could survive on Mars and unveils cutting-edge innovations such as the space elevators poised to replace rockets at a fraction of the cost. An interesting read.

Take a roller coaster ride or go to Jurassic Park and walk with the dinosaurs. Exciting news. I can’t wait to try them myself.
