Sherry Forest Rink wins annual Little Current Ladies Curling Bonspiel

LITTLE CURRENT—The Sherry Forest Rink of Gore Bay won the annual Little Current Ladies Bonspiel this past weekend.

The Forest Rink also included Heather Hall, Nancy Head and Mary Ann Alston. They won the first event, with the runners up being the Joyce Rivet Rink of Little Current. Ms. Rivet’s team included Susie McGraw, Ellie Miller and Paulette Glaude.

In the second event the Marilyn Proulx rink based out of Mindemoya defeated the Helen Gordon rink of Little Current in the final. Ms. Proulx’s rink included Sue Whynott, Wendy Niven and Nancy Cranston. Along with Ms. Gordon as the runners-up in this event were her teammates Ursula Paxton, Judith Mosher and Marguerite Hore.

The third event rink saw two Espanola teams playoff in the final. The Kathy Sharples rink won the fourth event. Her rink included Kim Cooper, Irene Callaghan and Nancy Marshall. The runner-up was the Laurie Moggy team, including Paula Fields, Leslie Marshall and Lorraine McDonald.

A total of 20 rinks took part in the event which ran throughout the weekend.
