GORE BAY—Dates have now been established by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) for the return of the seniors driving training program in Gore Bay, and so far attendance seems to be very good.
“I have been advised by MTO that the first session in Gore Bay is April 14 and that dates for the remainder of the year have been established,” stated Gore Bay Mayor Ron Lane. “It is important to stress that our seniors need to make use of the Gore Bay dates in order for us to keep this service.”
Bob Nichols, senior media liaison officer of the MTO told the Recorder on Monday, “there are 15 seniors scheduled to attend (the session on April 14) the senior driver group education session. The session is scheduled for 8:45 am and will be delivered at 14 Water Street (the town council chambers) in Gore Bay.”
Mr. Nichols confirmed that two other dates have been established for this year, August 23 and December 8.
