GEORGE WASHINGTON STRAIN
George Washington Strain, of Gore Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2016, in his 83rd year. Dear father of George (Alison), Gail Patreau and Bonnie Strain. Also survived by his grandchildren Matthew, Shane, Wendy-Jo, Ed, Erron, Ryan and great-grandchildren Alexandra, Austin, Cole, Jailyn, Abigail, Gracie-Jo, Leah, Sophie, Gabriel and Gavin. George will also be missed by his brothers John, Ross (Marg), brother-in-law Don Simpson, sister-in-law Heather as well as the mother of his children Reta. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Alice (Johnson), sister Colleen Simpson, brother David and sister-in-law Cleo Strain. Visitation was held at the Simpson Funeral Home, Gore Bay on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm, where a celebration of George’s life was held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 514 or the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary as expressions of sympathy.
