MABEL IRMA SHAW
Mabel Irma Shaw, nee Macaulay, 87, of Owen Sound died peacefully at Lee Manor (February 24, 2015). Mabel was born on June 2, 1928, in Fredricton, New Brunswick. Among those left to cherish her memories are her four children – Heather, Bonnie, Bernice and Kerry; her seven grandchildren – Alyssa, Ashley, Shantelle, Amie, Shanel, Justin and Joshua; and four great-grandchildren – Kiera, Kaylee, Skylir, and Isabella. Mabel is predeceased by her most cherished friend of 74 years, Betty McGregor. Mabel attended art school to nurture her creative talents. Given her love for the music of Harry Belafonte, we believe she would have run away with him if the opportunity arose. The camera loved Mabel’s model-like appearance with long wavy dark hair and fashion sense. Heartfelt thanks are given to the staff of Lee Manor for their dedicated support to Mabel and to Sue Rollin-Gordon from TLC who all provided genuine caring for our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mabel will be truly remembered for her sense of fairness and compassion towards others and her love of family. Mabel was cremated at Grey Bruce Cremation and will have her ashes spread by her daughters at her most treasured place.
