In loving memory of Douglas “Doug” Leslie Taylor, 81 years, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Maison Vale Hospice, Sudbury. Dear husband of Winona “Nonie” (nee Trail) Taylor. Will be sadly missed by his sons Mark and Brent and by his granddaughters Katie and Brooke. Predeceased by his parents William L. and Mae E. (nee Wagg) Taylor and by his in-laws Kenneth and Laura Trail. Brother of Wilda Campbell (husband Wallace), Bill (wife Gloria), Wayne (wife Roberta), Wallace and predeceased by John (wife Lois of Lively) and Frank and his wife Marilyn. Brother-in-law of Mavis and Ralph Brown, Areta Trail (Fred predeceased), Gaynel and Garth Williams, Neil and Linda Trail and predeceased by Donald Trail. Doug was born in Mindemoya, Ontario. He married Nonie in Toronto in 1967 and together they settled in Lively. He worked as a GEO Science Librarian for 38 years at INCO Ltd. retiring in 1992. Upon his retirement he worked as a receptionist for the Lougheed/Jackson and Barnard Funeral Homes. His co-workers will miss him greatly. His involvement with the Sudbury/Manitoulin Alzheimer Society, Scouts Canada and the Junior Chamber of Commerce were very important to him. Memorial Funeral Service was held at the Church of the Epiphany, 85 Larch Street, Sudbury on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11 am. (Friends gathered at the church after 9:30 am Saturday) Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium, Sudbury. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Doug to the Church of the Epiphany Building Fund or to Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
