DORIS MURIEL URSO (NEE WRIGHT)

In loving memory of Doris Muriel Urso (nee Wright), 88 years, who passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday morning, January 17, 2016 at her residence. Born February 16, 1927 in Gore Bay, Manitoulin Island, to John Cameron and Marianne (Bailey) Wright, Doris married Ernest (Ernie) Urso in Sudbury on August 8, 1951. Loving mother of David (spouse Holly), Brenda Carter (spouse Alex), Robert (Bob) Urso (spouse Kim), and Brian Urso (spouse Tammy). Cherished grandmother of Cameron Urso predeceased, Nicola Freeman (spouse Nicholas), J. Bailey Urso (friend Brett Mahy), Alexander Carter, Elizabeth Urso (friend Mark Mancini), and Matthew Urso. Dear sister of Jack Wright predeceased (spouse Wilda), Norman Wright (spouse Alice), Tom Wright (spouse Myrtle), Stewart Wright predeceased (spouse Wilma), Thelma Clark predeceased (spouse Bob predeceased), Ethel Bryant predeceased (spouse Vern predeceased), Fred Wright predeceased (spouse Addie predeceased), and Margaret Thornton predeceased (spouse Frank Johnson predeceased and George Thornton predeceased). Loving sister-in-law of Lina Steel (spouse Don Steel predeceased). Doris is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Doris was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and a friend to many. She worked diligently for her family, and was happiest when she had them all together. She was well-known for her excellent baking, especially her pies and tarts. Doris enjoyed a career in the retail jewelry business, once her children were in school. She and Ernie enjoyed many summers at their camp on Lake Huron, and upon retirement, they enjoyed many winters in Florida. She will be missed. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury. Friends called from 2 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 with parish prayers at 3 pm. Funeral Mass in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 1250 Barrydowne Road, Sudbury on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10 am. Interment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to the Sudbury Food Bank or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
