All that is required is a ‘let’s get it done’ mindset

In response to the letter ‘No fan of the Norisle,’ here’s a letter from ‘A fan of the Norisle.’
In my opinion, the Assiginack township, ratepayers and Island residents should rise to the occasion and fully support the initiative of the Friends of the Norisle to refit the steamer.
Be reminded that the HMS Segwun on Lake Muskoka is a paying enterprise, in fact putting extra funding into reserve. The time is ripe for a tourist luxury steamship on the Great Lakes to inflict spinoff resources for Canadian and American ports.
The steamer also has potential for travel through the Welland Canal and as far away as Quebec City.
In Manitowaning we have incredible potential, pristine waterfront, great depth of water, opportunity to restore the main floor of the Roller Mill for reception, coffee shop and boutiques and the opportunity to engineer a docking facility for cruise ships like those stopping in Little Current. All that is required is a “want to do it” mindset. Let’s get it done!
