In loving memory of Helen Graves, at the age of 94, who passed away on May 6, 2012 at the Manitoulin Health Centre surrounded by family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Gill Graves and Frank Stortz. Predeceased by her parents William Jr. Dryburgh and Hanna Lowe Dryburgh and her siblings Norman, Elizabeth, Cecil, Bertha, Marjory, Annie, Grace, Jean, Allan, Morley, Christine, George and Nola. Born and raised in Little Current, Helen married Frank and moved to Chicago where he died in 1973. Afterwards Helen returned to reside in Little Current. Finding love again she married Gill in 1993. Helen loved music and spent many hours playing and entertaining with her organ. Helen loved to drive and was proud of the fact that she took her driving test in the “Loop” in Chicago. She subsequently made several trips across the US and for well over 20 years drove down to Texas for the winter months where she made many lasting friendships. Up until last year she resided on a piece of property that was part of the original family homestead which she fondly called “The Yellow Rose Ranch.” Helen will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Visitation will be at the Island Funeral Home on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 10 am to 11 am with the service and a luncheon to immediately follow.
