Stuff a Cruiser Campaign
This year UCCM Anishnaabe Police is partnering with its United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising (UCCMM) Service partners, also known as the Maamwi Naadamadaa – “Let’s Work Together” Group.
The UCCMM service affiliates would like to promote and accept non-perishable food and children’s toy donations to the local First Nations. They realize that this time of year is particularly difficult for families in need, therefore it’s important as community service providers do what they can to help. So, this year UCCM Police Service has agreed to coordinate the drive, the “Stuff a Cruiser Campaign.”
Each organization (listed below) will be accepting donations and there will be drop off boxes located at their offices. In addition, this will be a friendly competition amongst each other to see who can stuff the cruiser the most on Monday, November 30, 2015. The service affiliates participating are: Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services – 72 Hwy. 551, Unit #2, M’Chigeeng, 705-377-5404; Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute – 374 Hwy. 551, M’Chigeeng, 705-377-4342; Noojomowin Health Centre and Mnaadzowin Health Centre, 48 Hillside Road, Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation; Ojibway Culture Foundation, 15 Hwy. 551, M’Chigeeng, 705-377-4902; United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising, 1110 Hwy. 551, M’Chigeeng, 705-377-5307; and UCCM Anishnaabe Police, 5926 Hwy. 540, M’Chigeeng, 705-377-5926.
UCCM Police Chief Rodney Nahwegahbow is confident that the public will help contribute to this very worthy cause and noted that it will operate from November 2 to November 30, 2015 and that all organizations look forward to distributing the proceeds of non-perishable goods and toys to members of the UCCMM service area.
