MERVYN AHO

Aho DeathMervyn Aho, of Kagawong and formerly of Sudbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at Mindemoya Hospital on Sunday, August 16, 2015, in his 71st year. Beloved partner of Ardiss Fenske and dear father of Tammy (Antonio) Ruberto of Sudbury and stepfather of Alex and Jesse Castonguay, both of Hamilton. Merv will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Joseph (Ashley) Ruberto and Julia (fiancé Jay Bertin), sister Gloria Menard of Leamington and sisters-in-law Carolyn Besserer of Garson and Deborah Dore of Ottawa. Predeceased by his parents Vaino and Beatrice Mae (Darby) Aho. Merv was a loving husband and father. He worked at INCO for 34 years, but his passion was being a DJ and was very proud to be the first in Sudbury to start up smoke-free dances in 1997 known as the Fresh Air Club, before Sudbury was smoke-free. Merv also was the DJ for the INCO Clarabelle Retirement Parties for many years. He belonged to the Dolphin Aquatic Scuba Club, but his biggest hobbies were solar and wind power, and playing with the birds and wild animals. At Merv’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the “Sweet Slumbers” as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay. www.culginfuneralhome.ca.
