REMEMBERING CHASE

Remembering Chase”

A memorial service will take place at 8:00pm on Wednesday, August 5th at the Whitefish River First Nation for Chase Froese. Chase, a 20 year old young lady from Carol Stream, went missing Friday evening whilst swimming with friends in Lake Michigan at Porter Beach in northwest Indiana. Her body was recovered Sunday near Indiana Dunes State Park.

For many years, Chase and her family have travelled to the Whitefish River First Nation community through the Daystar Network. Each July for one week, the Froese family and the Daystar group held events for all community members and became friends with many of the families and youth in the community. Edward Paibomsai, a Whitefish River First Nation youth stated on his Facebook “you were a great friend, even though we only seen each other for 1 week each summer there were always a great time and such a blast. You were always kind, outgoing, smart and just an awesome friend.”

The news of Chase’s passing quickly spread through the Whitefish River First Nation, and many community members are saddened at this loss in the Froese family as well as to the Daystar Network.

“We need to have a chance to grieve together and support each other in our loss of Chase. We also need to gather to send our prayers to her family, Beth and Greg (her parents) and her siblings, Luke, Jess and Lane.”

Everyone is welcome to attend this service which will include a Sacred Fire, Lantern release, Memorial Service and refreshments to follow. For more information, contact Cheyanne Pitawanakwat at 705-285-4354
