Ontario Provincial Police Called In to Assist
WIKWEMIKONG –The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North East Region Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Acting Detective Inspector Gilles Depratto, are currently investigating a homicide which occurred at a home located on Andrew Crescent in the unceded territory of Wikwemikong.‎
The OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FISU) is also providing assistance in regards to this incident which occurred on Sunday May 17, 2015 at approximately 6:45 a.m. after there was an altercation that took place between the occupants of the residence. This altercation resulted in the death of ‎33-year old Percy (Junior) SIMON.
A post mortem examination has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in Sudbury to determine the exact cause of his death.
At present, there are two males and one female in custody and the investigation is continuing.
