MINNIE FLORENCE GRAHAM

Minnie Florence Graham, a resident of Manitoulin Centennial Manor, Little Current, and formally of Kagawong, passed away at the Manor on April 2, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Minnie was born at Tehkummah on Manitoulin Island, daughter of the late James and Alice (Cooper) Hopkin. Minnie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lyle Graham, on December 22, 2006. Loving mother of Dianne, husband David Fraser, of Kagawong and David Graham of Southampton; proud grandmother of Michael Graham of Prince Edward Island. Survived by sisters-in-law Gelena Hopkin and Joy Hopkin. Predeceased by sisters Vera (Reuben Hembruff), Daisy (Harold Hamilton), Grace (Reginald Dewar), Maud (Jack Dewar), Hazel (James Winter), brothers Leonard Hopkin, Morley Hopkin, Lloyd Hopkin, Frank Hopkin (Amy). She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Other than a short period of time when Minnie worked in a munitions factory in Toronto during the 2nd World War (while husband Lyle was in the service), she resided on Manitoulin. During her life, Minnie enjoyed family, cooking, baking, working in her vegetable and flower gardens and helping Lyle run Graham’s Cottages. She was a member of Church of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Kagawong and active in church activities for many years. Friends were received at the Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay, from 7 pm to 9 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015. Funeral Service was conducted at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, in Kagawong, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11 am with Rev. Sherry De Jonge officiating. Spring interment in Kagawong Cedars Cemetery.
