SUDBURY—An increasing number of students are making Cambrian College their top choice, as shown by a significant spike in the numbers of confirmed students for fall 2015.
To date, confirmations are up more than 13 percent over this time last year, with 930 students accepting their offers of admission.
The percentage increase places Cambrian at the top among colleges in Ontario. Most colleges are experiencing smaller increases or seeing their acceptance percentage rates decrease.
“Cambrian College has long been the destination of choice for many, and we are pleased but not surprised to see our numbers growing,” says France Quirion, associate vice-president of Student Services. “We look forward to welcoming our new students this fall and showing them why Cambrian is an excellent place to study.”
With increased efforts to recruit outside of Northern Ontario thanks in part to the new Study North initiative, Cambrian is regularly attracting more students from the Greater Toronto Area each year. The college’s multitude of unique, high-quality programs—including in health sciences and the trades—is another distinguishing factor.
For those who are accepted to Cambrian but undecided, or who want to explore postsecondary options, the college is hosting an Open House that will enable the public to explore the campus, learn about course and program options and get their questions answered. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Spring Open House takes place at the Barrydowne Campus on March 28 from 11 am to 2 pm.
Students who confirm their acceptance by May 1 are eligible to win up to $10,000 in bursaries.
