The family announces with sorrow her death on Manitoulin Island at Centennial Manor on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Daughter of the late Dora (née Henri) and late William Brunette. Predeceased by her husband Eugene Charlebois in 2004. Loving mother to Dora Charlebois-Hews (David) of Brampton. Predeceased by her sisters Vina Sunday, baby Lorraine and by her brothers Dewey, Marcel, William, Alphonse, baby Lawrence and baby Edouard. “Mémère” will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandson Michael, great-grandchildren Kevin and Miranda. Florence grew up in the “Flour Mill” area of Sudbury. She started out working at Frood Mine in the 40s. She spent most of her married life as a homemaker. She and her husband opened their home to many children in need of love and care through the Children’s Aid Society. Flo volunteered in the CWL St-Augustin Church of Garson and often was found knitting for neighborhood children. She is remembered for her genuine willingness to help and warmth that was appreciated by all. She had a unique sense of humour that was engaging. The family received relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 2 pm – 5 pm and 7 pm – 9:30 pm and Sunday, March 4, 2012 after 12 noon. A funeral service followed at 2 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel, Sudbury. Donations (by cheque only) to the Alzheimer’s Society (Sudbury Chapter) are greatly appreciated.
