Spring Bay Rural Route

January 19—The sun is shining this morning as I write, though we did get some rain on Saturday night.

The Manitoulin Cattlemen’s Association and the Manitoulin Soil and Crop Improvement Association held their annual meeting last Wednesday in the Spring Bay Community Centre.

I listened to the Scottish music on TV this morning. Though Robbie Burns’ birthday isn’t until January 25. Thanks Elwood for calling me! Happy birthday in honour of Robbie Burns.

The winners of the Pinty’s All-Star Curling Skins Game on January 16 to 18 in Banff, Albert were: Ladies’, Team Homan from Ottawa won; men’s, Team Jacob from Sault Ste. Marie won. Congratulations to both teams! I enjoyed the games.

The Providence Bay Agriculture Society is holding their annual meeting at the Spring Bay Community Centre on January 21.

The potluck and fellowship together last Thursday in the Spring Bay Pentecostal fellowship room was much enjoyed. Lillian Greenman and Laura Scott visited me after the luncheon.

Several teams of hockey players were at Providence Bay arena on the weekend playing off for the Pearson Cup.

The Christian Women’s lunch and meeting at Abby’s Restaurant on Monday was well attended.
