Peacefully, surrounded by her family at Health Sciences North, Sudbury on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Nancy Sterling of Blind River in her 79th year, beloved wife of Blair Sterling for 60 years. Loving mother of Lynn Sterling Amyotte (Dennis) of Blind River, Stan Sterling (Pam) of Houston, Texas, Teresa Donio (Gabriel) of Thunder Bay, Brent Sterling (Vicky) of Waubaushene, Charlene Sterling Owl (Roger) of Sagamok and Cheryl Sterling Bennett (Elwood) of Spanish. Special Grandma to Mathieu, Samuel, Andrea, Jessica Rose, Danielle, Jordan, Shaness, Shane, Terence, Justin, Cody, Eric, Rebecca, Taylor, Willie, Charisse, Bryce, Tyler, Clarissa and Ryan, great-grandmother to Tori, Jessica, Declan, Reznor, Donovan, Rowan, Tannon, Preslea, Lochlyn, Halle, Kendrickz, Charlise and great-great-grandmother to Nevaeh. Dear daughter of the late Lyle and Dorothy Shortt and daughter-in-law of the late Arthur and Elsie Sterling. Dear sister of Lorna, Ruth, Garry, Ross, Wendy and Joe and the late Sid, Marion and Allan. Dear sister-in-law of Gordon, Keith, Wayne and the late Evelyn. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy will be remembered for her tremendous courage, love and compassion, her unique ability to use just the right word at the right time, her loveable hugs and kisses, her singing and the best home baked bread ever. Friends called at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Blind River on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 7 pm to 9pm. Funeral service was in the church on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10 am with Pastor Rustin Hildebrand officiating.
