Manitoulin Secondary School was vibrating with excitement for the Christmas holidays! On Tuesday, December 16 The Best Buddies organization held a bake sale. They sold cookies, brownies and cupcakes to spread the Christmas sweets. The halls were filled with the delicious smell of baking and got mouths watering all over the school.
The 12 Days of Christmas continued this week. On Thursday, December 18 all over the school people were going to be cloning Santa Claus, his reindeer, or some elves by wearing their Christmas hats for the day. On Friday, December 19, the last day of school before the holidays, there were ugly Christmas sweaters all around the school. There was a great deal of laughter when the school day started!
On the evening of Thursday, December 18 MSS hosted their awards night for their graduated students and current ones. The cafeteria was decorated beautifully, and alumni came with their families. Friends reunited and shared stories about their first adventures after high school. Teachers loved hearing about graduates’ life experiences and about their college and university programs. The Manitoulin Community was generous and made the holidays more joyful for the grads, with awards, bursaries, and scholarships.
Over the holidays, students might want to create art for Artastic Fusion, the annual juried art show. Prizes and bragging rights can be won and art in any media can be submitted to Mrs. Wesno in D8A.
Believe me, I know how excited everyone is to go back to school, but enjoy the holidays and have lots of fun! ‘Till next time, stay golden, Mustangs.
