Tehkummah Talk and Times

Wednesday Mum opted out of going to Pat Novak’s for carol singing. Of course we can’t do anything without food. Great desserts, apples, fruit, cheese, and coffee and tea. Pat played all the traditional Christmas music. So nice! Carol, Faye, Linda, Pauline, Kathy, Lynda, Martin, Mary, Justin, Quillan, Audrie and I had a lovely sing-a-long.

I just nicely got home, turned around and off to Skylar’s Christmas concert at the Mindemoya School. Computer and screen allowed for some amazing dancing by elves who looked like teachers and students. The theme “Christmas Idol” showcased the grades, skits and music. I like the ribbons and scarves and the mittens and “ccccold”. It was all great, Spanish and French included. Congratulations students and teaching staff. I didn’t get much chance to admire all the grades/classes, artistry, but the walls were beautifully decorated.

The last euchre tournament of 2014 was held at the hall on Thursday evening. There were eight tables and Bev and Richard were on KP duty. Winning with nine lone hands and a score of 90, Brad and Bill; second, Donna and Eila, 83; third, Dorothy and Ken, 79; fourth, Raymond and I, 77; low, Bill and Betty Jean, 51; door prize, Sheila.

Today too was busy as always. Mollie and John came from Elliot Lake bearing gifts, flowers and Christmas for Mum, and KFC and Tim Horton donuts. So I joined them at Mum’s for lunch and after they left I stayed and beat Mum three of five (one skunk) cribbage games. I’m on a roll. I’ll see if I can maintain during the holidays.

Darn it, I didn’t get my letter to Santa written. Somehow the season came before I was ready! (I’m still waiting for last spring?) Anyway, a special Christmas wish to all my readers and the best New Year ever!

I almost missed the early deadline. Read all about it after midnight on Thursday/Friday already.

I usually do a thank you to all those who serve us and keep things rolling along and operational. Bless you all for your good works and volunteerism. Love Pat, Cleo, Ginger and Marble (Bubs).

This place there is always a tragedy of some kind or another. I keep the outside door loose for the cats. I never noticed last evening when I came home whether the door closed properly, but a squirrel was frozen hanging over the door. Could have happened when he tried to make an escape and got caught?
