OPP seize drugs, money and stolen property at traffic stop

WEST PARRY SOUND – On November 23, 2014 the North Bay R.I.D.E. Unit Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling faster than the posted speed limit on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. A combined investigation with the West Parry Sound (OPP) and a search of the vehicle led to a quantity of marijuana, counterfeit American bills and possession of stolen property.

The driver, Kareem HASTINGS, 20 years of age from Toronto, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:

  1. Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA).
  2. Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
  3. Possessing Counterfeit Money – have in custody contrary to the CCC.
  4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the CCC.
  5. Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario (HTA).

Kareem HASTINGS was held in custody to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound.

Passenger, Kadisha DAVIS, 19 years of age from Toronto, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:

  1. Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA).
  2. Possessing Counterfeit Money – have in custody contrary to the CCC.
  3. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the CCC.

Kadisha DAVIS was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 18, 2014.

Passenger, Eric MACKINTOSH, 33 years of age from Sudbury Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:

  1. Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA).
  2. Possessing Counterfeit Money – have in custody contrary to the CCC.

Eric MACKINTOSH was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 18, 2014.

Passenger, January SHALLOW, 33 years of age from Sudbury Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:

  1. Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marijuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drug Substance Act (CDSA).
  2. Possessing Counterfeit Money – have in custody contrary to the CCC.

January SHALLOW was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 18, 2014.
