‘The Mistletoe Promise’ by Richard Paul Evans – A lovely Christmas story by one of our most popular authors. This is a story of love, healing, and redemption. She dreads the arrival of another holiday season. Three years ago, her husband cheated on her with her best friend resulting in a bitter divorce that left her alone, broken and distrustful. And then a stranger approaches her, a man she recognizes from her office building, and when that happens you cannot put this book down. What happens next is something very different from a regular love story and I am not going to tell you what it is but you are in for a surprise. A good read.

Subjects such as automotive repair, career cruising, environmental issues, gardening and horticulture are but a few of the topics available.
Recognition of the Month – Sally Miller is our assistant librarian at the Providence Bay library. As well as working a few hours here in Mindemoya since January 2010 she is an avid reader and enjoys watching murder mysteries, the more gruesome the better. Sally has a great love for all animals and is very active in all save the animal organizations such as Pet Save and PETA. She has fostered kittens and also helps other people care for their animals. Many years ago she had a pet pig named Lassie that travelled everywhere with her. She came to Canada from England with her older brother and sisters when she was a young child. Her mother used to say that Sally was so bad on the boat coming over that she thought about throwing Sally overboard and wondered if anyone would notice. Sadly her mom passed away when Sally was a young woman. She moved to the Island approximately l1 years ago. Prior to this she lived on a houseboat in the Florida Keys and then moved to California and everywhere in between. She hates the snow, as she informs all of us when she comes into work.
Enjoy shopping and attending all the Christmas bazaars before Christmas but remember take some time to read a good book. We have some lovely new books for children that I just love and wish I had grandchildren to read them to.
