OPP arrest male in possession of ten pounds of marijuana

WEST PARRY SOUND – On November 17, 2014, a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol and observed a single vehicle collision on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township. The lone vehicle had collided with the steel guard rails at the Naiscoot River Bridge. Police investigation and a search of the vehicle led to a large quantity of marihuana being seized.

The driver, Stephen DECLAVASIO, 27 years of age from Sault Ste. Marie was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – over 3 kilograms as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA). He was also charged with Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams as per the CDSA. The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on November 18, 2014.
