Writers invited to submit material for editor’s comments
MANITOULIN–Island writers have an opportunity to receive feedback on works-in-progress during one-on-one sessions with an editor this month. “The Editor is In” sessions will be held at the Gore Bay Museum on Tuesday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 21 from 1 to 4 pm. To book a time slot with editor Margo Little, chair of the Manitoulin Writers’ Circle, writers can call the museum at 705-282-2040.
Proceeds from “The Editor Is In” event support Manitoulin Writers’ Circle programs. The fee for the commentary is $5 per page. Typewritten material is preferred. The editor is offering on-the-spot critique for short items such as poems, essays or flash fiction (max 500 words). Bring two copies. Longer manuscripts such as novel excerpts or memoir chapters can be dropped off October 14 and picked up October 21. Please limit excerpts 10 pages. The feedback will include suggestions for revision and potential publishers.
