Zoe Fleming BPhe, MSc, WWII veteran, Parasitologist for Canadian Veterans from Japan, Life Member of the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club, Lab Instructor at York University for 20 years, Volunteer Councilor for Bereaved Families of Ontario, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the John Joseph Nursing Home in Owen Sound on Friday May 13, 2011 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Jock Fleming for 61 years. Loving mother of Zoe and her husband Burnley McDougall, Dr. Ann Fleming and her partner Cliff Renfrew, Rob and his wife Michelle Fleming, and the late Nancy Fleming (Warren). Granny Zoe to Matthew (Crissy), Jessica (Abdoul); Eric; Sarah, Heather (Bastian), Ben, Michelle; Tessa, Emma, and the late Mike. Step-Granny to Ryan (Tisha), Rob, Andy, Spencer, and Leanne. Great-Granny to Ian and Greyson. Dear sister of Joan (Mrs. Desmond Goodwin) and the late Betty (Mrs. Jim Elmsley). Zoe will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A celebration of Zoe’s life will take place on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at St. Georges Anglican Church 1049-4th Avenue, Owen Sound at 2 pm. A reception to follow. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Owen Sound would be appreciated by the family.
