A resident of Little Current. It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Helen at the Manitoulin Lodge Nursing Home, Gore Bay on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the age of 98. Daughter of Bertha and Meredith Franklin. Beloved wife of Albert Aelick (predeceased). Loving mother of Berton (predeceased) wife Mona of Little Current, and Carl wife Freda of Levack. Grandmother of Jackie and Tom Cunning, Mike and Kim Aelick, Randy Aelick, David and Cindy Aelick, Donna and Todd Deslauriers. Helen also had 12 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Michelle (Dennis), Robert, Thomas, Cory (Aimee), Tanya, Melissa, Adam, Carla, Matthew, Miranda, Tia; and four great-great-grandchildren, Makenna, Carson, Devon, Braydon. Predeceased by her only sister Marguerite Solomon. Helen was born and raised in Little Current. In her younger days Helen spent her time farming and gardening. The family would like to thank the staff at Manitoulin Lodge for their outstanding care of Helen over the past seven years. As per Helen’s wishes a private family service was held on August 6, 2014 at Island Funeral Home, followed by burial at Mountainview Cemetery.
